After a personal tragedy she starts going through the motions, almost directionless as the treaty worlds debate strongly about what to do with the Bug threat. That is until a team of scientists are put together to approach the Drenil, and try and work out a way to communicate with the very alien species, which uses technology that seems more like magic than science.
